While still in the tertiary Institution, I admired and still admire one of my astute lecturers – Mrs. Adah Anyahuru Kudirat, because of her virtually all the girls in my class turned to Feminists. In the words of popular Award winning Nigerian writer – Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche Feminism in an ideal sense simply means being who you are; being the woman that you are, without fears of judgement from folks. We say to girls: you can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful but not too successful, otherwise you will threaten the man. On a particular Sunday morning, sometime early this year. I visited a family and during the course of the preparation for mass one of them asked me in confidence "Dom...can someone who kissed someone recieve the communion" Imagine my numbness, for seconds I couldn't say anything because it was really tricky but yet I gavean answer. I do not intend to insight violence, hatred, prejudice among countless numerous mundane feelings with this piece, but it's always wise to" call a spade a spade and not a garden fork" Racism is rooted in the very DNA of (I beg to withhold my words) it is prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. Because of the colour of your skin, they ask if you are from a cave and if you have tails. A friend who got scholarship and studied abroad buttressed the fact that during the first class he was using the meter rule and someone approached him and said " Can I teach you how to use that...?  As if we grow in caves in Africa. O Mother Africa! Have they forgotten in a hurry that civilization started in Egypt: a country located in the northeastern corner of the African Continent. At every public worship of the Roman Catholic Church, there is a principal culmination. This culmination is also known as the celebration of the sacrament of the Eucharist. The word isn’t of English, thus; is a word with diverse dimensions, all going back to the man’s central need of giving thanks to God. It is one of the often used words in Catholicism. Its meaning is deep and more profound and only one with profound intimacy with God can fully comprehend its richness.  To properly understand the word is necessary to consider the word in itself. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church would assert: “The inexhaustible richness of this sacrament is expressed in the different names we give it. Each name evokes certain aspects of it. It is called: Eucharist, because it is an action of  thanksgiving to God. The Greek words: 'ευχαριστία'  ( eucharistein) and 'ευλογείν'  (eulogein) recall the Jewish blessings that proclaim - especially during a meal - God's work...

Racism is just a tip of the many difficulties we face as a people. Did you know that the population of America is a little above 328.2 million. In this census Blacks in America make a total of 42% of the population and yet over 13% are in prisosn. How we treat a person during the darkest point of their life's is the benchmark of humanity. Putting individuals convicted of crimes, especially violent crimes, in prison is thought to make the rest of us safer. But how much safety does all this imprisonment actually buy us? The answer is very little, especially in the long-term. There are good reasons to think prisons might prevent crime. The experience of imprisonment could deter someone from committing crimes to avoid prison in the future. Prison might provide opportunities for rehabilitation, such as drug and a...
